Combining Field Options ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

You can use more than one option with most fields. For
example, you can use Option 4 to copy data from another
field, and then use Option 30 to pad the field. When you use
multiple options for the same field, you must place the options
in the order you want to apply them to your format.

Restrictions

Some options cannot be used together. For example,
incrementing (Option 60) and price field (Option 42) options
cannot be applied to the same field. Refer to the following
sections addressing individual options for specific
combinations to avoid.

Option 4 (copy a field) is the only option that can be repeated
for a single field.

Field Options on the Format Worksheet –––––––––––––––––––––––

The Field Options sections on the Format Worksheet are
located to the right of the text, bar code, and non-printable
sections.

Defining Fixed Data (Option 1) –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Fixed data is information (a company name or store number)
you want to print on all labels. You can define fixed
characters for an entire field or for part of a field.

Defining Fixed Characters for an Entire Field

There are two ways to define fixed characters for an entire
field. Define a constant text field, as shown in Chapter 1,
"Designing a Format," or define a fixed field using Option 1.
Option 1 enables you to define fixed data for the field.
