Requirements
The following components are required for authorization and authentication:

A remote administrator
n
The Web switch with authentication and authorization protocol support, acting as a client
in the AA model
n
A back-end authentication and authorization server that performs the following functions:
o Authenticates remote administrators
o Checks the remote administrator’s authorization to access the switch
o Optionally, tracks and logs the administrator’s activity while logging on
n
An AA database that contains information about authorized administrators and their spe-
cific capabilities and privileges
