Carrier

In Package Track, a carrier represents the organization that delivers
packages to your facility.

Carrier’s Tracking Num-
ber Format

The symbology for a carrier’s tracking number. It is used as a means
to identify a delivery carrier in Package Track, and link the received
package to this carrier.

Cradle

A device that establishes a direct link between your desktop com-
puter and your handheld device. For more information about the cra-
dle, and about establishing a connection between your desktop
computer and your handheld device, please refer to your handheld
documentation.

Custom Report

A Package Track report that can be modified.

Data Synchronization

A term that describes the data transfer process between a handheld
device and a desktop computer. For more information about the
data synchronization process, please refer to your handheld docu-
mentation.

Database

The collection of data arranged in Package Track.

Desktop Computer

The desktop computer represents your personal computer or laptop
computer.

Handheld Device or
Batch Portable Device

A handheld electronic organizer that holds information from your
personal computer or laptop.

Handheld Identifier

A unique number for the handheld.The handheld ID is assigned in
the Package Track application for the handheld.

License Number (or
code)

A number that enables your IntelliTrack product to function in its full
version. This number is unique to your system.

Location

In Package Track, a location represents a temporary storage loca-
tion where the package goes before it is delivered. Bins, mail boxes,
shelves, staging areas, etc. are examples of Package Track loca-
tions.

Lookups

In Package Track, lookups represent the package location, delivery
carrier, delivery status, and package type. Lookups store descriptive
package information.

Mailroom

In Package Track, a mailroom represents the location where incom-
ing and outgoing mail is handled for your organization. By default,
Package Track contains one mailroom entry.

Package ID

A unique number assigned to the package by Package Track. It is
used to identify the package within the application.

Portable Application

The Package Track application that is installed and used on the
handheld.
