Databackup Folder Permissions

Important: The databackup folder in your program directory must have
proper permissions in order to create a backup database with the backup
utility.

In order to back up your database with the backup.bat utility, the
databackup folder in your IntelliTrack Program directory must
have read/write access for the service account that SQL Server uses for
the server instance containing the database being backed up. Typically, this
account is named the Network Service account. To make sure that your
databackup folder contains the necessary permissions, please refer to
the steps that follow.

1.

First, identify the name of the service account that SQL Server is using
for the server instance containing the database being backed up. In
order to identify the name of the service account, go to your computer’s
Administrative Tools, which are available from the Control Panel.
From the Administrative Tools, select Services to reach the Services
list.

2.

In the list of Services, locate SQL Server (MSSQL). This listing con-
tains a Log On As entry. This is the name of the Service Account for
SQL Server. Typically, it is named Network Service. Make a note of
the Log On As entry name because this is the name of the service
account. In order to create a backup database with the backup.bat
utility, this account must have read/write access in the databackup
folder.
