Changing compression for incoming faxes

The HP LaserJet 3150 product is capable of using JBIG
compression, [ITU-T Recommendation t.30 (1996)} which allows
faster fax transmissions. However, not all fax machines can process
the JBIG information and they may disconnect. Because this issue
rarely arises in the United States and Canada, the default is set to
Enabled. In all other countries/regions, the default is set to Disabled in
order to maximize compatibility with other fax machines. Having this
setting disabled does not prevent you from
sending JBIG-compressed
faxes to compatible machines.

If this setting is disabled you can enable it. Please be advised that if
you choose to enable JBIG compression for received faxes on your
product, non-compatible fax machines will not be able to send faxes
to you.

If the setting is enabled and you notice that a fax machine trying to
send a fax to you abruptly disconnects at the beginning (negotiation
phase) of the transmission, that fax machine may not be capable of
processing JBIG information. In order to receive faxes from these
types of machines, JBIG compression for incoming faxes must be
disabled on your product. Use the procedure below to change the
setting.
