Balance Fixturing

Quick access:

Explorer tab > Set Up > New Specimen > Install Fixturing

Important:

Before clicking the Balance Fixturing button, ensure the following:

The power is on.

The upper fixturing is in place.

The specimen is not in contact with the upper fixture (that is, the only force on the motor is the
weight of the upper fixturing).

The actuator is not moving.

About the Balance Fixturing control

The Balance Fixturing control corrects for changes in the load cell and fixture mass that may result in
unwanted actuator movement. If your system is unbalanced, the actuator position may drift even though
command is not being applied.

Note:

Fixture balancing is not required for horizontally mounted actuators.

Using the Balance Fixturing control

In general, you need to balance fixturing whenever you change the fixture or load cell mass on the actuator.

To check the status of the fixturing balance of the system, observe the Balance Fixturing button.

If a green check mark appears next to the button, the system is balanced, and no action is required.
