Mounting a System Load Cell on the Table

7. Torque the load cell bolts to specifications.

8. Using a small flathead screwdriver, attach the accelerometer cable from the load cell to the back of the

load unit in the slot labeled “Accelerometer.”

9. Using a small flathead screwdriver, attach the load cell cable to the back of the load unit in the slot

labeled “Force Transducer.”

Mounting Optional Low Force Load Cells in Tandem Configuration

Caution

:

Handling the load cell carelessly can cause damage to the internal gauges.

Damage to the internal gauges may cause the low force load cell to no longer function properly.

Handle the low force load cell with extreme care.

1. Lubricate the load cell mounting bolt.

2. If necessary, raise the crosshead so you have enough space to work between the crosshead and table:

a) Move the left and right crosshead locks to the fully unlocked position.
b) Press the Exclusive Control button on the frame-mounted control. Using the crosshead control

buttons on the frame-mounted control, move the crosshead up so there is enough space in which
to mount the spring platens.

c) Move the left and right crosshead locks to the fully locked position.

(p. 186), attach the low force load cell to the system load cell. Torque the load

cell bolts to specifications.

4. Disconnect the load cell cable from the system load cell and connect it to the low force load cell.
