Chapter 2 Install the Controller
Make Sure That You Have All
of the Components Before you begin, check to make sure you have all of the components you will
need.
These parts are included with the primary controller and safety partner.
The following optional equipment may be used.
Install a Chassis and Power
Supply Before you install a controller, you need to install a chassis and power supply.
1. Install a ControlLogix chassis according to the corresponding installation
instructions.
Extreme environment (XT) controllers require an XT chassis.
IMPORTANT You must use a primary controller and a safety partner to achieve SIL 3/PLe.
