Appendix C - Vintage Carts

Hook-Up: Y1077 and Earlier Carts

For a new or recent air cart (serial number Y1078 or
later), see “Y1078+ Hydraulic Connections” on
page 17.

Y1077- Hydraulic Connections for NTA
Fan
1.

If your tractor has a priority circuit for hydraulic
motors, connect the fan to this circuit.

Note: Fan hoses are not the same size.

A

8

inch hose are paired together.

Refer to Figure 109
2.

Connect the

inch hose

(nearest the fan) to the

side of the circuit you choose to be pressure side.

3.

Hook

inch hose (not shown) to the other tractor

outlet.

4.

Connect

inch sump hose

(near the shutoff

valve

) to the tractor hydraulic reservoir. Refer to

your tractor operator’s manual for instructions.

Refer to Figure 110

Machine Damage Risk:
Failure to properly plumb sump hose into tractor hydraulic
reservoir may result in tractor or drill damage.

Note: For proper hydraulic flow, use a poppet-style,

Pioneer quick coupler to connect sump hose to
tractor.

Auger
Connect auger hoses. Auger hoses go to the diverter
valve

on the inside of the left tongue rail. This circuit is

used by the cart for the auger, and may also be directed
to rear ports.

A diverter valve on the cart (

in Figure 109) switches

flow between auger and rear ports.

Implement Lift
Connect lift hoses. Lift hoses are the

3

8

inch hoses that

go directly to the lift couplers on rear of cart. This

3

8

inch

hose circuit is unused by the air cart, but is used for Lift
by all implements.
