Transporting

!

DANGER!

Electrocution hazard. To prevent serious injury or death from
electric shock, keep clear of overhead power lines when trans-
porting, folding, unfolding or operating all air drill compo-
nents. Machine is not grounded. Electrocution can occur
without direct contact.

!

WARNING!

Towing the drill at high speeds or with a vehicle that is not
heavy enough can lead to loss of vehicle control. Loss of vehicle
control can lead to serious road accidents, injury and death. To
reduce the hazard:

• Do not exceed 20 mph.
• Do not tow a drill that, when fully loaded, weighs more than

1.5 times the weight of the towing vehicle.

Before transporting the cart, check and practice the follow-
ing items.

Minimum Towing Vehicle Weight

When hitched to ADI345: 20,250 pounds
When hitched to ADI334: 17,600 pounds
When hitched to NTA3010: 25,100 pounds

When hitched to NTA3510: 25,950 pounds

Warning Lights. Always use implement warning lights
when transporting the air drill.

Auger Latch. Properly latch auger to rear storage arm be-
fore transporting.

In-Cab Electric Switch Off. Check that the in-cab electric
switch is off while transporting.

Transport Locks. Check that all implement transport
locks are securely in place.

Tires. Check that all tires are properly inflated as listed on
Tire Inflation Chart, “Appendix,” page 53.

Bystanders. Check that no one is in the way before mov-
ing. Do not allow any one to ride on the cart or implement.

Remove Main Drive Chain. If the cart will be transported
more than 15 miles, remove the main drive chain to avoid
wear.

Clearance. Know the transport dimensions of the cart and
implement and follow a route that provides adequate
clearance from all obstructions, including overhead lines.
Refer to “Specifications and Capacities,” on page 51
and in the implement operator’s manual.

Stopping Distance. Allow sufficient stopping distance
and reduce speed prior to any turns or maneuvers. If the
cart is transported with a full bin, allow extra stopping dis-
tance.

Road Rules. Comply with all federal, state and local laws
when transporting on public roads.

Watch Traffic. Remember that the bin obstructs a portion
of your rear view. Be prepared for sudden maneuvers from
following vehicles.
