3. Adjust the meter-box gears shown in Figure 3-2. The
gears are on the meter box on the left side of the cart.
a. Remove the lynch pins from the gears.
b. Reverse the gears as indicated on chart, then re-
place lynch pins.

4. Shift the gearbox speed.
a. Disengage the gearbox clutch by rotating the
handle down. See Figure 3-3.

Setting Metering Rate
To set the meter rate, you must adjust the quick-change
sprockets, change the meter-box gear set, shift the gear-
box and calibrate the rate.
When adjusting the rate, first check the charts starting on
page 23 or the cart bin. The charts are based on cleaned,
untreated seed of average size and test weight. Many fac-
tors will affect meter rates including foreign material, seed
treatment, seed size, field conditions and test weight. Mi-
nor adjustments will be needed to compensate for these
factors. Initially set the rate according to the charts, then
check the rate for your material.
1. Refer to the charts starting on page 23. Find the prop-
er sprocket orientation, gear set and gearbox speed
for your desired application rate.
2. Adjust quick-change sprockets shown in Figure 3-1.
a. Remove the lynch pins from the sprockets.
b. Take the sprockets out of the chains and reverse
their position as indicated by the seed rate chart.
c. Replace chains on sprockets.
d. Align holes in sprockets with holes in shafts. Slide
sprockets into place and replace the lynch pins.
