Gearbox Output and Meter Box Input Chains
Refer to Figure 3-13. Check tension on gearbox-output
chain. The chain should have 1/2-inch slack at the mid-
point of the lower span.

Refer to Figure 3-14. Check tension on meter-box-input
chain. Chain should have 5/8-inch slack in the bottom
span.

To adjust tension, see Figure 3-15. Loosen bolts holding
the jackshaft bearings and slide the jackshaft. Retighten
bolts.

Electric Clutch Switch Adjustment
A height switch on the implement rockshaft turns seed me-
tering off when the implement is raised. To adjust the
height at which seed metering is turned off, follow these
steps.

WARNING!
Do not place any part of body under implement while making
adjustments.
1. Locate the height switch on the left side of the rock-
shaft.
2. Lower the implement until it is at a height where seed-
ing should start (usually just above ground). Securely
support implement frame at this height with jack
stands or blocks.
3. Turn off the tractor and remove the key.
4. Refer to Figure 3-16. Loosen the cam clamp (1) on the
rockshaft and turn until the switch roller is just starting
to make contact with the ramp surface (2).

5. Raise the implement fully and check that the switch is
compressed as shown Figure 3-17.
