be visible.

Every time I try to do a
directory listing from an NFS
client on the root of a system
volume, I get an error
message that usually states
"Permission Denied."

The problem is caused by the
System Volume Information
directory, which is created by
Microsoft Index Server. The NFS
service cannot access this directory,
and returns an error to the client
when they try to list its properties.
This problem only occurs when
sharing the root of a drive letter.

Ignore this error. By default, the
System Volume Information
directory is not used by the NFS
clients or your system.

I cannot add a user with the
name "User", "User1", and so
on.

Due to security reasons, the system
does not support generic user
accounts.

Do not create generic user
accounts beginning with "User."

I have just changed the
system IP address and now I
cannot administrate the
system through the
PowerVault NAS Manager.

Even though you configured the
system with a new IP address, your
local host is still trying to
communicate with the system using
the old IP address.

Close Microsoft Internet Explorer
and restart the PowerVault NAS
Manager.

In PowerVault NAS Manager, I
clicked OK and then Cancel
and the NAS Manager locked
up.

Cancel will not dynamically stop a
system update after choosing OK. It
allows the system administrator to
cancel an operation before
confirming it.

If an operation has been performed
in error, the system administrator
must manually reset the setting.

I see the following error
message in the event log:

"WMI ADAP was unable
to load the
winspool.drv
performance library
due to an unknown
problem within the
library: 0x0."

This error is an issue with the WDAP
Performance library and is
documented on Microsoft's Web site.

1. Connect to the system via
Terminal Services Advanced
Client and open a local command
prompt.

2. Enter the following:
"WINMGMT/CLEARADAP".

3. When the prompt returns, enter:
"

WINMGMT/RESYNCPERF

winmgmt service PID."

I cannot change the default
Welcome and exit message for
FTP shares

The default welcome and exit
messages for FTP can only be
modified through the Terminal
Services Advanced Client.

Connect to the system via
Terminal Services Advanced
Client and make the appropriate
changes through the Microsoft
Management Console
.

When I am in Dell
OpenManage Array Manager,
right-clicking on a volume and
selecting Explore causes the
Advanced Administration

The Terminal Services session had a
problem launching the Windows
Explorer console.

When the error appears on the
screen, close the Advanced
Administration Menu
and open
Windows Explorer.
