Using the Dell OpenManage Remote Assistant Card 2 (DRAC 2) Console Redirection
Service

NOTE: You must have a DRAC 2 installed in your system to use this feature.

The DRAC 2 Console Redirection Service is an independent software module running on the Windows
NT/2000 operating system that allows you to see the remote system's monitor and control its keyboard and
mouse. The Redirection Service gives you full control of the system, allowing you to perform any
administrative tasks on the system as needed. Using this service, you can perform the following tasks:

Reboot or shut down the system.
Watch the boot process.
View the system's event logs.
View the system's

To run the DRAC 2 Console Redirection Service, perform the following steps:

1. Start the DRAC 2 Console Client.

Yes. You are finished. Reconfigure or troubleshoot the system as necessary.

No. Reconfigure the DRAC 2 card using the terminal services Advanced Administration Menu, then
proceed to step 2.
