v. From the Maximum Speed (bps) drop-down menu, select 115200.

w. Click OK to close the Modem Configuration window.

x. Click OK to close the Direct Connection window.

The Connect Direct Connection box prompts you for a user name and password.

y. Enter the User Name and Password for your system.

z. Click Connect.

This connects the system you are using for configuration.

aa. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer on the system you are using to configure the PowerVault 735N

system.

ab. Type the name of the PowerVault 735N system.

The PowerVault NAS Manager appears.

8. Does the PowerVault NAS Manager appear on the screen?

Yes. Check the network settings and functionality of the network card. If necessary, restore the
network settings from backup.

No. Proceed to step 9.

9. Power down the system, attach a keyboard, monitor and mouse, and reboot the system. As the system

boots up, make sure that the system completes the boot process and does not hang during the POST.

Did the system successfully complete the boot process?

Yes. Proceed to step 10.

10. Can you log on to the NAS appliance?

Yes. Perform the following steps:

a. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.

b. In the Address field, type

http://localhost:1278.

The PowerVault NAS manager appears.
