Oiling the Machine
To insure easy running of the machine and to prevent
premature wear of parts that are in contact with each

other, the places indicated by arrows in Figs. 30 to 33
require

oiling,

and

if

used

continuously,

should

be

oiled daily. When used only moderately, an occasional

oiling is sufficient. One drop of oil at each' oiling

point is sufficient.

Oil holes are provided for those parts of the machine
which are not easily accessible. In order to reach the

oiling points behind the face plate (Fig. 31), it is

necessary

to

remove

the

face

plate

(see

No.

11,

Fig.

10).

After

loosening

the

face

plate

set

screw

(No. 12, Fig. 10), the face plate easily lifts up and off

the machine.

It is very important to remove
the cover plate on the side of
the machine arm and to oil the
friction

points

revealed

behind

this plate, as shown by arrows
in Fig. 32.
