lets in the two-needle clamp and
are threaded through the eye of
the needles from front to back (see
Fig 69).

Tension

The upper and lower tensions are

set approximately the same as

for plain stitching. The air tucks

should not be drawn too closely

together by the under thread, but

suificient to give them correct for­

mation. The wider the air tuck, the
looser the under tension should be.

The Length of

The

stitch

regulat­

ing iever (B, Fig. 23)

should

not

be

set

less than V

2

mm.

for

air

tucking,

even for fine mate­
rials. Otherwise the

length

of

stitch

should

be

adapted

to

the

kind

of

material used.
