Overedge stitching
(exclusive for model 5430C)
This
stitch
is
used
forfinishing
in
stretch
fabrics
edges
or
in
cloths
which
need
nnore
elasticity,
such
as
sleeves,
collar,
sweaters
and
swimsuits.
RECOMMENDED SETTINGS
Pattern: Overedge (right) stitch
Stitch width: Variable
Foot: Special purpose presserfoot(J)
1.
Turn
the
stitch
length
dial
to
the
position
of
flexible
stitch
patterns (light blue mark).
2.
Place fabric under presserfoot.
3.
Adjust
stitch
width
in
a
way
that
the
right
stitch
is
inside
the
fabric
and
the
left
ones
are
placed
on
the
fabric.
This
procedure
will
allowthatthe
edge
ofthefabric
be
involved
by
thethread.
4.
When
sewing,
use
flexible
stitch
adjustment
selector,
turning
itto the right or left in orderto obtain the visual effect desired.
