Installing the mounting brackets
Before installing the switch to the rack, install the mounting brackets to the chassis. Figure 23 shows how
to install the mounting brackets to an S9505E switch.

Installing an impedance carrier (optional)
An impedance carrier is shipped with the S9508E-V. You install the impedance carrier at the rear of the
chassis (where a ventilation panel is located) to block the airflow from entering the chassis.
Install an impedance carrier in case switches adopt front to rear airflow.
NOTE:
Only the S9508E-V is shipped with an impedance carrier.
To install an impedance carrier:
1. Loosen the captive screws on the ventilation panel to remove it.
2. Install the impedance carrier, and fasten the captive screws on the impedance carrier.
