Installation preparation
• Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure it is properly grounded.
• Remove the blank panel (if any) from the slot to be used.
• Prepare the card to be installed.
NOTE:
•
Keep the removed the blank panel and protection cover properly for future use.
• All the cards (excluding subcards) for the S9500E switches are hot-swappable.
Installation procedure
To install a card:
1. Remove the protection cover before installing a card:
a. Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and then loosen the captive screws that fix the card to the
protection cover with a Phillips screwdriver.
b. Pull the card out of the protection cover gently. See Figure 33 .

2. Move the ejector levers of the card outwards. Supporting the bottom of the card with both hands,
slowly push the card into the slot along slide rails.
3. Push the ejector levers inward to ensure close contact between the card and the backplane.
4. Position the screws into the holes and fasten them with a screwdriver to fix the card.
