4.4.5 Windows

Within the main window of Win+Drive several child windows can be placed. Each child window can be

maximized, minimized, resized and closed with the standard

actions. Within the

menu

there are some items for arranging the open windows (tiling and cascading) and for arranging the the icons of
the closed windows. Another menu item is provided for closing all windows.

The window menu also includes the list of the open windows. Selecting one of these items will change the
focus to the corresponding window.

Within

there are four different types of child windows:

schematic windows for the main scheme and for the compound blocks

the output window of the code generation and compilation process

monitor and trace windows for displaying dam during simulation.

Windows

The schematic windows are the main part of a Win+Drive application. They display the structure of the
program to generate and allow graphical editing of this structure.

The title bar of the main scheme always is Scheme while the compound blocks have their names in the title
bar The schematics windows have scroll bars for changing the actual view within the total schematic. They
can be minimized, maximized and resized.

Within the client area of a schematic window there are the following elements:

the blocks of the schematics. These can be basic blocks or compound blocks
connections between the ports of the blocks

input and output ports within compound blocks for connecting them to the next

layer

texts and labels as comments.

AU blocks and connection lines are placed on a grid. Within the page setup dialog (called from the File menu)
the grid can be sized and made visible and printable.

Schematics can be printed on many pages. The boundaries of the pages for print out are visible within the
schematics as fine lines.
