Connecting

Blocks

Connection lines between blocks are the graphical representation that one block is evaluating the results of
another one for its own calculation. Therefore connections are always done between the output port of a block
and the input of the next one. One output can be connected to several inputs.

For drawing a connection perform the following actions:

place the mouse onto the port of one block

press together the

key and the left mouse button

while pressing

and the left mouse key move the mouse to the port

shall be connected. During

this movement a direct line is drawn from the starting point to the actual mouse position
after the mouse pointer has arrived at the port that shall be connected release the left mouse button. Now a
rectangular connection line that doesn’t overlay blocks is drawn between the two ports.

If an output shall be connected to several inputs, first draw the connection from this output to one input. Then
start a new connection from a point of this existing connection line to the next input. The starting point will
get the junction of the two connection lines.
Connection lines can also be created between blocks (instead of the ports of blocks). This is used for changing
the execution order (see chapter 8). Creating these lines is done by pressing the left mouse button within the
block center of the block that should be executed first. After holding down the mouse button and moving the
mouse to the block that has to be executed after the first one, the button is released. Now a connection line
between the two blocks is drawn. A virtual output and virtual input are created for this purpose.
