Complex projects get soon so complex that it is not possible or useful to have all blocks in one schematic. For
splitting a project into several schematics compound blocks are provided. Compound blocks contain basic

blocks and other compound blocks. Compound blocks are inserted into schematics similar to basic blocks.
The inputs and outputs of compound blocks represent their connection to the upper level of hierarchy and
build the ports of inserted compound blocks.

7.1.

Creating

a

New Compound Block

A new compound block is created by selecting New from the Compound menu, A dialog is opened for
entering the block name.

After entering the name and pressing OK a new window is created that contains no elements,

Opening an existing Compound

To open an existing compound block within the project choose the Open item from the Compound menu. A

dialog appeares that lists all existing compound blocks within this project. By selecting an item and pressing

OK or by double-clicking the item the corresponding compound block is opened into a new window.
