Modulation Source Relative Gain Calibration

Description

This calibration provides a scaling factor for all of the multiplexed FM modulation inputs. The scaling factor
is used by the signal generator’s firmware to scale the actual requested FM deviation from the A17
Synthesizer (Option 501, 502, 503, 504) when the corresponding input is selected. Three scaling factors
(EXT1, EXT2, and INT1) are generated during this calibration. The resulting values are used to calculate the
calibration values that are then stored in the signal generator’s firmware.

Required Test Equipment

• Agilent 3458A Option 002 digital multimeter

• Agilent 53132A Option 050 frequency counter

• Agilent 33120A function generator
