S.A.E. Housing Mounting Face
1.
Use the same procedure as above EXCEPT orient the indicator pointer
perpendicular to the mounting face - see heading “S.A.E. Housing Pilot
Bore” on page 129.
2.
The RUNOUT limits are the same as those for the bore.
Flywheel Pilot Bearing Bore
1.
Rigidly mount the base of a dial indicator to the S.A.E. housing and ori-
ent the pointer perpendicular to the pilot bearing bore.
2.
Rotate the crankshaft to establish a total indicator reading as outline
above - see heading “S.A.E. Housing Pilot Bore” on page 129.
3.
The MAXIMUM allowable TIR for the pilot bearing bore is 0.005”
(0.127 mm).
Drive Disk Pilot Bore
1.
The RUNOUT for the disk drive pilot bore is checked as outlined above -
see heading “Flywheel Pilot Bearing Bore” on page 130.
2.
The MAXIMUM allowable TIR for the drive disk pilot bore is 0.005”
(0.127 mm).
Drive Disk Mounting Face
1.
Use the same procedure as outlined above EXCEPT orient the indicator
pointer perpendicular to the mounting face near the inside edge of the
face - see heading “S.A.E. Housing Pilot Bore” on page 129.
2.
The MAXIMUM allowable TIR is:
