After the settings are saved and the unit confirms carrier connection,
test the email function by accessing the Test Email LCD screen on
the Spider and holding down the button for 5 seconds. The Spider will
produce a test message and display Success after sending or Failure
if problems occurred. Refer to the troubleshooting section for
assistance, when necessary.
Remote Access Procedure
To wake up the Spider to receive incoming Internet connections,
send a text message containing the following text to the Spider
’
s
phone number: GPRS10. This instructs the Spider to wake up for 10
minutes to wait for an IP-based connection. However, enter any value
from 1 to 30 for the waiting period. The unit will not disconnect from
the user while the user is online with it; however, the unit will
disconnect after the designated number of minutes if the user closes
the browser and disconnects.
NOTE: Keep in mind that the Spider cannot send out alarms via text,
voice, or email during Remote Access.
