Security Menu

TABLE 2-4

shows the options that are available from the BIOS Security menu.

Flow control: Enables flow control. Options include:

None, XON/XOFF, CTS/RTS.

None

Console type: Enables the specified console type.

Options include: VT100, VT100 8 bit, ANSI 7 bit,
ANSI VT100 plus, VTF8.

Continue CR after POST: Normally, console

redirection is off before the operating system
loads. Set this item to on to troubleshoot the BIOS
boot problems. Note: the operating system loader
typically interrupts console redirection once it
starts. Options include: On and Off.

Password Is:

Displays whether a supervisor password has
been entered for the system. Clear means
such a password has not been used and Set
means a supervisor password has been
entered for the system.

User Password
Is:

Displays whether a user password has been
entered for the system. Clear means such a
password has not been used and Set means a
user password has been entered for the
system.

Set Supervisor
Password

Supervisor password controls access to the
Setup Utility. Enter the Supervisor’s
password to set or change it. Enables access
to BIOS.
