B.5 Other Information

B.5.1 Using AHCI Mode or ALi M5283/ VIA VT6421A Controller

When the system uses AHCI mode or some specific SATA controllers such as ALi M5283 or VIA
VT6421A, the SATA RAID/AHCI driver must be installed before using one key recovery. Please follow
the steps below to install the SATA RAID/AHCI driver.

Step 1: Copy the SATA RAID/AHCI driver to a floppy disk and insert the floppy disk into a USB floppy
disk drive. The SATA RAID/AHCI driver must be especially designed for the on-board SATA controller.

Step 2: Connect the USB floppy disk drive to the system.

Step 3: Insert the One Key Recovery CD into the system and boot the system from the CD.

Step 4: When launching the recovery tool, press <F6>.

Step 5: When the following window appears, press <S> to select "Specify Additional Device".

Step 6: In the following window, select a SATA controller mode used in the system. Then press <En-
ter>. The user can now start using the SATA HDD.

Step 7: After pressing <Enter>, the system will get into the recovery tool setup menu. Continue to
follow the setup procedure from Step 4 in Section B.2.2 Create Partitions to finish the whole setup
process.

B.5.2 System Memory Requirement

To be able to access the recovery tool by pressing <F3> while booting up the system, please make
sure to have enough system memory. The minimum memory requirement is listed below.

Using Award BIOS: 128 MB system memory

Using AMI BIOS: 512 MB system memory.
