Maintenance

The standard operating life of an OXY 1100 sensor is 2–3 years. The
sensor can be replaced in a few minutes.
The maintenance of the EVITA

®

OXY sensor is limited to the cleaning,

which should occur every 2–3 months, and the calibration, which should
be performed every 6 months.

Cleaning (OXY transmitter)

If the TILTCAL function is activated, care must be taken during cleaning
that the sensor does not point upward for more than 3 minutes, as
otherwise the calibration procedure is initiated. The TILTCAL

®

function

can be deactivated in accordance with the depiction in

Figure 34,

page 111

.

1.

Remove the transmitter from the medium to be measured.

2.

Clean the sensor with clear water, in which you can add a little

washing-up liquid/cleaning agent.

3.

Dry the sensor with a soft cloth.

4.

Insert the transmitter again into the medium to be measured.

Cleaning (signal converter)

Clean the USC signal converter as required with a soft, damp cloth.

Replacement of the sensor

1.

Remove the defective/worn out sensor.

2.

Insert a new sensor (refer to

Figure 6, page 90

).

3.

Set the operating hours counter (refer to

Figure 19, page 99

).

4.

Place the transmitter such that the OXY 1100 sensor points

downward. Leave it in this position for at least 1 hour so that the

sensor can stabilize (refer to

Figure 16, page 96

).

5.

Perform the calibration (

section Calibration, page 106

).
