Guide to the troubleshooting - single

position transmitter

OXY 4100/3150/4150

Symptom

Current signal Error

Resolution

Constant electric signal
(varying oxygen
concentration)

I = 0 mA

Incorrect wiring

Check wiring, and remedy if necessary

Voltage too low

Check supply voltage at the transmitter.
Supply voltage must be at least 12 V

Initialization error

1

Switch off transmitter for at least 5 seconds

2

Switch on again with sensor pointing downward

Transmitter defective

Replace transmitter

I = 3.80 mA
or 24.0 mA

Initialization error

1

Switch off transmitter for at least 5 seconds

2

Switch on again with sensor pointing downward

Transmitter defective

Replace transmitter

I = 3.85 mA
or 23.5 mA

Membrane damaged

Replace OXY 1100 sensor

Moisture behind OXY 1100 sensor

Fully dry out the terminals on the transmitter. A
hair dryer can be used

I = 3.90 mA
or 23.0 mA

Calibration not possible, worn out OXY 1100 sensor

Replace OXY 1100 sensor

I = 3.95 mA

Oxygen content below set measurement range

Reduce lower measurement limit value

I = 22.00 mA

Oxygen content below set measurement range

Raise upper measurement limit value

Incorrect measurement
value

Variable

Incorrect calibration value

1

Check full-scale value in atmospheric air. Hold the
transmitter in the open air with the sensor downward.
Compare the value with DS/EN 25814 (refer to
appendix IIa)

2

Check the zero point (refer to appendix IIb)

3

If significant deviation, calibrate again.
