5.3.0 External Commands

Your controller can process programming received from an external controller or function generator while
maintaining all other closed-loop control functions. You can incorporate externally generated programming
when creating tests with the MultiPurpose Elite application.

5.3.1.0 External Command Test Overview

This test design:

Simulates an external command source through the use of a calculated input. You add the calculated
input to the station configuration with the Station Builder application.

Uses a calculation to define a sine wave command. You add the calculation to the station configuration
with the Station Manager application.

Receives simulated external command through the External Command activity. You add the External
Command
activity to the test with the MPE application.

Interacts with Setpoint and Span controls in the Station Manager application while the test runs.

Applies transition times to the simulated external command. You define transition times with the External
Command
activity and the Station Manager application.

This test uses an External Command activity to receive simulated command from an external source.

This test is simple. You start and stop the test manually with the controls on the MPE application test panel.
