Thermal Sensors

In the AC input drive

, the Thermal Sensor system consists of:

A connector to J8 on each of the three Gate Interface Boards.
A sensor secured to the Heatsink above the SCR modules.
A sensor secured to the upper mounting bracket for the Main Control

Panel.

A connector to J6 on the Power Interface Board.
Wiring to TB9 (terminals 9 and 10) on the Stacking Panel.
Wiring to the DC Choke Plate at TB15 OUT and TB OUT, jumpered

together internally.

In the DC input drive

, the Thermal Sensor system consists of:

A connector to J8 on each of the three Gate Interface Boards.
A sensor secured to the Heatsink above the SCR modules.
A sensor secured to the upper mounting bracket for the Main Control

Panel.

A connector to J6 on the Power Interface Board.
Wiring to TB9 (terminals 9 and 10) on the Stacking Panel.

The connectors to J8 on each of the three Gate Interface Boards are wired in
series. There is one J8 connector with four wires that senses the temperature of its
IGBT. The other two connectors have two wires and only sense an over-
temperature condition.

ATTENTION: Thermal sensors wired to the DC Choke Plate and to
the three-phase motor cannot be replaced. The DC link choke and
three-phase motor must be replaced if these thermal sensors or
their wiring are destroyed.
