Preparing for installation
 Ensure that the user installing the software has administrative rights in Windows.
 If installing FactoryTalk View Studio Enterprise, locate the serial number because you
will be prompted for it during the installation. Serial numbers are generally on the
original packaging of the installation media.
 Schedule downtime for the system if you are upgrading operating applications or
replacing computers during the installation.
Launching Setup Wizard and selecting what to install
1. Close all open Windows programs.
2. Place the FactoryTalk View Installation DVD in the computer’s DVD drive. The
installation should start automatically.
If the installation does not start, run D:\Setup.exe, where D:\ is the drive containing
the DVD.
After launching, the Setup Wizard automatically installs the necessary software and
prerequisites if needed:
