Connecting the Module to the
Network

Step 1.

Remove power from the drive.

Step 2.

Use static control precautions.

Step 3.

Connect an RS485 cable to the network, and route it
through the bottom of the drive.

Step 4.

Connect a 6-pin linear plug to the RS485 cable.

Step 5.

Connect the cable to the module.

See figure 3.5 for typical network connections.

ATTENTION: The SP600 drive may contain high
voltages that can cause injury or death. Remove
power from the drive, and then verify power has
been discharged before installing or removing a
module. Failure to observe this precaution could
result in severe bodily injury or loss of life.

The shield must be grounded at a single point on the network (jumper terminals
SHIELD and GND).

Jumper terminals TERM and A on the modules at the end of the RS485 network.
This enables a built-in RC termination network on the module.
