4 Deaerate pump
x Make sure that the 6.1834.010 aspirating tubing for the high-
pressure pump has been immersed into the eluent.
x Click the <On> button for IC pump to switch on the high-
pressure pump.
x Use the syringe connected to the purge valve 31 to aspirate
air until eluent flows into the syringe.
x Click the <Off> button for IC pump to switch off the high-
pressure pump.
x Close the rotary knob on purge valve 31 31 31 31 by turning it in a
clockwise direction (see Fig. 3).
x Remove the syringe from coupling 24

5 Rinse pulsation dampener (if present)
x Place a beaker beneath the column connection capillary 20
20 20 20.
x Click the <On> button for IC pump to switch on the high-
pressure pump and rinse the pulsation dampener 52 52 52 52 filled
with isopropanol for ca. 10 min with eluent.
x Click the <Off> button for IC pump to switch off the high-
pressure pump.
6 Reduce flow rate
x Reset the original flow rate under Flow (e.g. 0.2 mL/min ).
x Click <Send to unit> to send this value to the 792 Basic IC.
