Forwarding and Filtering

The frames of Ethernet Packets contain a MAC address (SMAC address), which
shows the MAC address of the equipment sending the frame. The SMAC
address is used by the switch to automatically update the MAC table with these
dynamic MAC addresses. Dynamic entries are removed from the MAC table if no
frames with the corresponding SMAC address have been seen after a
configurable age time.

Dynamic MAC Table

Entries in the MAC Table are shown on this page. The Dynamic MAC Table
contains up to 8192 entries, and is sorted first by VLAN ID, then by MAC
address. You can view all of the dynamic MAC addresses learned by the listed
port.
