Troubleshooting Library Initialization

To troubleshoot problems with the library initialization:

1.

Make sure the power cable is securely inserted in the library and the
wall outlet.

2.

Make sure the door is completely closed and key is turned to the
locked position.

3.

Make sure each device on the SCSI bus is set to a unique SCSI ID
number.

Troubleshooting SCSI Problems

To troubleshoot problems with a SCSI device:

1.

Make sure each SCSI device in your SCSI chain has a unique SCSI ID.
If two or more devices have the same ID, the computer may stop
when you try to use the robotics or fail to recognize other SCSI
devices.

2.

Make sure the SCSI host adapter card is firmly seated in the card slot
in your server computer.

3.

Make sure the SCSI bus is terminated at both ends.

4.

Make sure that the terminator is correct for the type of SCSI bus you
are using.

5.

Make sure all cable connectors are firmly seated.

6.

Make sure the chain of SCSI devices is compatible: SCSI-III devices
may not function on SCSI II cables; SCSI II devices may not function
on SCSI-III cables.
