Testing EDID for HDMI compliance in source devices

The analyzer supports the following EDID and video HDMI compliance tests in
accordance with the HDMI Compliance Test Specification 1.3 (CTS):

Test ID 7-1: EDID Related Behavior

This test is intended for in-house testing of products before submission to an HDMI ATC
for full certification testing.

Note: This feature is not supported on the 881 generator.

Overview of HDMI compliance testing

HDMI source compliance Test ID 7-1 is conducted through the generator’s HDMI Rx In
connector. A standard HDMI-to-HDMI cable connects the device under test to the
generator. The generator must be configured to output HDMI signals.

Testing HDMI source devices for EDID compliance

The procedures for EDID and video testing of HDMI sink devices in accordance with the
HDMI Compliance Test Specification 1.3 are provided below.

To run the HDMI EDID source compliance test:

1. Configure the generator to operate in the HDMI mode.

a. Press the

Interface key. A listing of signal interfaces appears on the generator’s

display as shown below.

b. Choose the

HDMI-H item by pressing the adjacent soft key. The interface is

activated and the port outputs the currently selected image and format.

c. Alternatively, to activate the interface through the command line interface, enter the

following commands:
