PROFIBUS is standardized in the international standards IEC 61158 and IEC 61784, and supported by the member companies of the PROFIBUS International user
community.
PROFIBUS International (PI) is the umbrella organization for all Regional PROFIBUS Associations (RPA) worldwide. PI has engaged PNO (PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation
e. V.), Germany, a non-profit organisation based in Karlsruhe, Germany, to establish Technical Committees and Working Groups in order to define and maintain
the open and vendor independent PROFIBUS technology. Any member of PROFIBUS International may take an active part in maintenance and further development
