TDS allows access to three different SIPs. Since most of
the entries relating to surveying will require numerical
input, the numerical panel contains oversized digit
buttons for ease of use, as well as useful options such as
tab (to move between fields), enter, cut, copy, paste, etc.
While most SIPs are fixed at the bottom of the screen,
TDS Keyboard can be floated over the screen.
The TDS SIP can be moved by dragging its grip bar.
(On the iPAQ, the button must first be tapped
to expose the grip bar.)
TDS Smart SIP on the Recon
The Smart SIP is available when running Survey Pro on a Recon and
will automatically provide the user with the appropriate SIP when it
is needed. The SIP can also be configured to automatically open on
the iPAQ when the cursor is inside an input field, but the SIP must
be manually switched between text and numbers on the iPAQ as
needed.
Enabling the Smart SIP on the Recon
The Smart SIP is enabled by default, but if it has been
disabled, you can re-enable it using the following steps:
From the Main Menu, access open the -RE | 6HWWLQJV |
*HQHUDO screen.
Check the 8VH 6PDUW 6RIW ,QSXW 3DQHO $FWLYDWLRQ
checkbox.
If the Smart SIP were not enabled, the user would need
to click on the SIP icon on the taskbar to toggle the
visibility of the SIP prior to entering data.
