Command Mode

Interface

Description

Sets the MAC format of the IP interfaces. The no form of this
command restores the default ethv2.

Syntax

Sample Output

The following example sets the MAC format of the IP interfaces, on
the interface labeled “boston” , to the Subnetwork Access Protocol
(snap).

(config-if:boston)#

ip mac-format snap

ip mac-format {ethv2|snap}

To Disable:

no ip mac-format {ethv2|snap}

Name

Definition

ethv2|snap

Set the MAC format of the IP interface to either
ethv2, which is the default, or to snap (Subnetwork
Access Protocol).
