Description

Creates a new user account.

Syntax

Sample Output

The following example sets the username to “boston” with an
encrypted -type1 password of “mass” and an access-type of admin:

# username boston password encrypted-type1 mass access-type

admin

To Enable:

username <name> password [encrypted-type1] <passwd> [access-type
{read-only|read-write|admin}]

To Disable:

[no] username <name>

Name

Definition

name

The user’s name.

password

The user’s password.

encrypted-type1

The user’s encrypted password.

passwd - The user’s password.

Note:

If the [encrypted-type1] keyword precedes the <passwd> field, then

the system treats the <passwd> entry as an MD5 encrypted string.

access-type

The access level for the user. The access types are:

• catName - Custom Access Type Name Range: 1-31 characters
