6. Wait for the slave unit(s) Media Activity LEDs to extinguish before pressing record again on
the master. If record is pressed while the Media Activity LEDs are on, the slave units may not
receive the record command.
C.Link Metadata Sharing (788T Only)
When Setup Menu option CONNECTION MODE is set to C-LINK METADATA SHARING, the master unit
will share additional information with the slave unit. All 788T recorders in the C.Link group must
have this option set in order to take advantage of metadata sharing. Changes made on the master
unit will appear on the slave unit. Changes made to a slave unit will affect that unit only.
The following metadata items are shared C.Link Metadata Sharing is active:
• Scene
• Take
• Track Names • Notes
• Circle
A convenient method for designating fi les as from the master or slave unit is to change the take designator
character to a unique character for each unit from Setup Menu option REC: TAKE NAME/NUMBER.
Remote Track Naming
By default, when C.Link Metadata Sharing is active, Track Name changes on the master unit
will be refl ected on the slave unit. This behavior can be disabled with Setup Menu option
REC: REMOTE TRACK NAMING
. When the slave unit is intended to be a “mirror” backup of the mas-
ter unit (i.e. The audio program on each track of the master is identical to the audio program on each
respective track of the slave unit), remote track naming should be enabled on the slave unit. When
the slave unit is intended to serve as additional tracks to the master unit (i.e. The audio program on
each track of both units is unique), remote track naming should be disabled on the slave unit.
