The Protective Link PM option appears on the Network Performance screen when the PLPM
license is enabled. The PLPM screen is used to configure the PLPM settings and view its status.

The following information is provided on the Protected Link Performance Monitoring screen
(Figure 4-50).

For configuration steps, see “Configuring PLMP” on page 96.

State identifies which NID is active and initiating the PM, CPM, or SAM tests on the network.
When the NID is Passive, it is passing packets to the Active NID only. This state should never be
Active/Active, except when the LAG partner is offline due to a failure on the MPP port. It is
possible to have Passive/Passive if handshaking is in progress. Values: Active, Passive. Default:
Passive

Manager IP displays the Local and PLPM Partner's Test IP Address under the Management IP
Configuration. The PLPM Partner Test IP is the Local Test IP on the PLPM Partner and is entered
as a configuration item. Values: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. Default: 0.0.0.0

MAC Address displays the value of the MAC Address assigned to both devices.

PLPM Partner's MAC Address is obtained using the PLCP protocol. Values: 00 40 2A xx xx xx.
Default: none.

SW/PLCP Version is the version of firmware and PLCP protocol in each device. When the
versions are found to be different, the State becomes Passive. Values: x.xx/x. Default: none

User/Network Link displays the status of the user and network link. The link is fixed at 1000FD.
Values: Up, Down.

LAG State can have the following values:
