10. CPM Duration is a time field of the form H:MM:SS. Hour(s) can be omitted if less than 1

hour is entered. The range is 5:00 to 1:00:00. This CPM Test Duration is separate from
and not related to the Duration parameter.

The CPM Test Duration will be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 1 hour. PM
statistics for each Test Address that has CPM processing will be collected for this CPM
Test Duration. When this duration is reached, a PM Test Result will be generated and
added to the PM Test Results buffer and a new collection of statistics will begin.

11. Latency Buckets defines the collection criteria used for PM testing and identifies the

number of packets that fall within a specific boundary of Latency.

A maximum of 10 Latency Buckets can be defined where 0 is the lowest value for the

first bucket and the Packet Timeout value sets the maximum value for the last bucket.
For example, if you set the Packet Timeout to 8, the largest Latency Bucket you can
define (in milliseconds) would be 8,000.

Set Notation is used to show the values within a bucket.

Values are entered in msec with up to 3 levels of precision, thereby supporting bucket

definitions up to 1 microsecond.

4000.00 = 4 seconds

0250.000 = 1/4 second or 250 msec

0020.000 = 2/100 second or 20 msec

0000.001 = 1/1,000,000 second or 1 microsecond (µsec)

Bucket values are inserted based on their numerical values.

12. Jitter Buckets define the collection criteria used for up to 9 definable buckets from a

negative Packet Timeout Value, bucket 0, up to the Packet Timeout Value.

Jitter is the time variation between packets as they arrive. It can be caused by congestion
on the network, timing drift, or route changes. Jitter can be measured as positive or
