The current state is Available and three of the four FLRs are less than the Cu (79). The

state remains Available because a least one of the FLRs are less than the Cu.

The second Service Availability Window consists of the four FLRs {100,100,100,100}.

The current state is Available and zero of the four FLRs are less than the Cu (79). The

state changes to Unavailable because there are none of the FLRs are less than Cu so the
else clause is used.

SAM conducts continuous testing on hundreds of connections simultaneously (See Figure 4-20
for the maximum number of test addresses supported by each NID). For equipment compatible
with Canoga Perkins, SAM availability data is maintained on a one-way basis (see Figure 4-36).
For other remote equipment, availability data is maintained on a round-trip basis (see Figure 4-37
and Figure 4-38).
