Enter the Login Name and
Password. The default login
name and password are admin.

All the commands you see in SSH are
the same as the CLI commands you
see through the RS-232 console.

Command Line Interface
Introduction

The Command Line Interface (CLI) is the user interface to the ES7510 embedded software. You can view the
system information, show the status, configure the switch, and receive a response back from the system by
keying in a command.

There are several different command modes. Each command mode has its own access ability, available
command lines and uses different command lines to enter and exit. These modes are:

User EXEC Mode

on Page 127, which includes commands to ping or telnet to a remote device, and show

some basic information and to access Privileged EXEC mode

Privileged EXEC Mode

on Page 130, which provides a view current configuration, reset default, reload

switch, show system information, save configuration, and access Global Configuration mode

Global Configuration Mode

on Page 131, which you can use configure all ES7510 features and access to

one of the Interface Configuration modes

(Port) Interface Configuration

on Page 132, which can be used to configure port settings

(VLAN) Interface Configuration

on Page 133, which can be used to configure the settings for a specific

VLAN

User EXEC Mode

When you login to the ES7510 with the CLI, you are in User EXEC mode.

In User EXEC Mode, you
can ping, telnet to a remote
device, and show some basic
information.

Type the command and
press Enter:

enable to access
Privileged EXEC mode

exit to logout.

? to see the command
list.

list to review the User EXEC mode commands and corresponding options.

enable Turn on privileged mode command

exit Exit current mode and down to previous mode

list Print command list

ping Send echo messages

quit Exit current mode and down to previous mode

show Show running system information

telnet Open a telnet connection

traceroute Trace route to destination
