By installing the optional IEEE1394/USB card (Model 8370) and connecting the DV824
to a personal computer via the [IEEE1394] (or [USB]) connector, audio file data can
be transferred between the DV824 and a personal computer.
DV824 audio data can be copied to a hard disk on the personal computer, or ex-
ported to a software application such as Digidesign Pro Tools.

To export audio file data to your PC, install the dedicated driver (on the CD-

ROM) supplied with the optional IEEE1394/USB card or a commercially available DVD-
RAM writing software application to your PC.
Also note that even if appropriate writing software is correctly installed, the read/write
functions are limited depending on OS, as below.

When connecting via the [USB] port:

• Windows XP, Windows 2000

Both "Read" and "Write" are possible (when the supplied driver is used).

• Macintosh OSX, OS9.2.1, OS9.2.2

Only "Read" is possible (when the supplied driver or a commercially available
writing software is not used).

When connecting via the [IEEE1394] port:

• Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98SE

Both "Read" and "Write" are possible (when the supplied driver is used).

• Macintosh OSX

Only "Read" is possible (when the supplied driver or a commercially available
writing software is not used).

• Macintosh OS9.2.1, OS9.2.2

Both "Read" and "Write" are possible (when the supplied driver or a commercially
available writing software is not used).

<Note>:

By installing the optional IEEE1394/USB card, the "IEEE1394" menu item is added

to the "SYS SETUP" menu of the MENU mode.
