A play-list tab in Idle state is when it is not loaded to an output of an XT server.
All functions are dimmed and inactive with the exception of the channel name
function, which can still be accessed. Clips can still be added or removed,
transition types and durations can be modified but changes cannot be viewed on

the XT output if the play-list is in Idle state.

Play-Lists initially placed onto a tab are in Idle state, but if they have been made
active a right-click on the tab area will show the contextual menu to return the
play-list to an idle state.

Note
A channel can still remain allocated to the tab in preparation for the
play-list to be loaded to an output when the Play-List tab made active
again.

To change the channel allocated to a tab, right-click on the Channel Name area of
the tab and this opens a contextual menu showing the XT channels that are
available to the IP Director workstation. This contextual menu varies depending on
the ‘View XT Structure’ settings (see Section “Menu Bar” in part 1 of this User
Manual). By selecting an available channel this will be allocated to the play-list if

certain conditions are met to enable the allocation.

For a channel to be available it cannot be:

Already associated to another tab, if it has already been allocated an error

message appears

Controlled by another device, if this a shared control between IP Director and

another device, it is possible to regain control from the contextual menu by
selecting the ‘2nd controller’ item in the menu. If the item is checked, it means
the control has been given to the 2nd controller device. If it is unchecked, it
means the IP Director has the control of the channel. This item is only available

for selection in the menu when the channel is configured in ‘Exclusive’ mode;
otherwise it is greyed and unavailable.
