A Step Press is a press operation that is done in multiple phases using multiple parameters.
This operation works best when used in conjunction with the “Keep Load” Return Operation. For
best results set up as follows:
ƒ For a smooth curve, set [18: Crossover Load] equal to the previous step’s
[13: Standard Load].
ƒ Turn On the Self Check Off signal before starting each cycle.
ƒ After the end of each phase, start the next phase as soon as possible. Because
load recovery is not used, the press motor will turn off and the press will begin
releasing the load gradually.
The present load value will be fixed to 0 point and operate unless the
SELF-CHECK signal is turned OFF for this operation.
*There is a possibility to destroy the equipment.
This press can be done with the F type tool but make sure not to
overload.
It is recommended that, if the return of the press is done with a parameter, use Distance
Control.
However, if Standard Distance is set to 0 without a return operation, the press will reject
because the Distance Low value is zero (a value less than zero is not possible).
Refer to the following for setting up a Return Parameter. Adjustments can be made according
to the individual application.
Data Number ００ is set to ０００１ → set to distance control
Data Number ２０ is set to ０．０ → distance low value is 0ｍｍ
Data Number ２１ is set to ２．０ → distance high value is 2ｍｍ
Data Number ２２ is set to １．０ → standard distance is 1ｍｍ
Data Number ２３ is set to ３．０ → １ST distance is 3ｍｍ
Data Number ２４ is set to ２．０ → ＣＲＯＳ distance is 2ｍｍ
Data Number ６０ is set to ５．０ → free run distance is 5ｍｍ
（set larger if speed causes over run）
Data Number ６２ is set to ００．０ → Operation Finish Return Position is 0ｍｍ
*All other data needs to be set to complete the parameter setup (speed, time, etc.).
